We video the planets with a camera lens. It's a good, quick introduction to the Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and the Moon. Anyone with a digital camera and a zoom lens that goes up to about 300mm can do this. In some ways its better than a telescope. You will be able to see Saturn's rings, the moons of Jupiter - the same view that Galileo saw 400 years ago, the view which turned the world on its head.
