How do I use the video capture capabilities of PASCO Capstone to help determine the true stress of a sample within the materials testing machine? The key to getting live measurements from the sample is to have the sample back lit so that a sharp, high contrast boundary is visible between the edge of the sample and the lit background. The video and the data need to be synchronized at the point of fracture. The point of fracture also needs to be noted so that the position the fracture can be monitored during the video playback.
