HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Yes, this is a crossover featuring Tim Burton's Frankenweenie (2012) and Corpse Bride: Victor Frankenstein and Victor Van Dort. Everyone's noticed the visual similarities between the two, so I figured I'd bring the two together. Plus, I wanted to ;)
Disclaimers, excuses and whatnot (SPOILER ALERT):
*This is definitely one of the most personal fanvideos I've ever done, or will probably ever do. All of the emotions portrayed in this video are almost uncomfortably close to my own.
1. I used clips from the Frankenweenie trailers, webclips and featurette. I don't have a copy of the full film, so don't ask! Oh, and tombstone is from a promo picture. I photoshopped it a leeeettle bit ^-^
2. I haven't actually seen the movie yet. In fact, I purposely made this before seeing it since I KNOW I would've spent the whole time I was watching it thinking despairingly of all the clips I could be using for my video, clips that I won't have access to any time soon. Did not want to start the making of this video feeling completely blocked ;)
3. Needless to say, due to lack of clips I couldn't make a full video. If I had been able to make a full video I would've found a way to include a storyline with Lord Barkus so that he didn't have to show up as some random, psychotic deus ex machina plot device, like he does here -_- Very sorry about that. The randomness of it annoys me more than it does anyone else, I guarentee you, but I couldn't think of another way to have Victor die (Actually--that's another thing. I didn't even WANT to have him die because it's excessively tragic and more than a little uncalled for, but I had to have him meet "Scraps/Sparky" in a way that deviated from the original Corpse Bride storyline--for creative purposes :P).
4. Emily is supposed to be a somewhat angelic figure here.
5. I KNOW this is not my best work. AND IT ANNOYS ME ENORMOUSLY. I am satisfied with it up until the crazy instrumental starts. That part...ugh....It's missing the feeling I originally intended for it to have. I wish I'd had enough clips of Frankenweenie AND of Victor playing the piano so that I could've somehow excluded Lord Barkus entirely.
6. I may remake this in the future, but for now I'm leaving it since it took SO LONG and I have many other things to do.
7. Despite all of my complaints and excuses, I do hope you'll enjoy this video :)
