Known previously from the art-pop outfit Cat Princess, Victor Skogseid now steps into a more personal and experimental territory, blending genres such as jazz, prog, trip hop, and krautrock.
Although a solo project, Räkna i färg carries strong family ties. Skogseid’s father Roger Klinth contributed drums, while his uncle Rolf Klinth, also known for his work with Tiger Lou, handled the mastering. The result is a vivid, mostly instrumental soundscape where synths, bass, and drums take center stage, with occasional vocals adding texture.
Driven by a desire to push his own creative boundaries, Skogseid approached the album as both a challenge and an experiment, exploring styles he had never tried before, producing with greater focus and intention, and writing lyrics in Swedish for the first time to achieve a deeper honesty. Above all, Räkna i färg seeks to carve out an instrumental landscape that feels fresh and uncharted.
