Vici VC99 (aka Vichy VC99) is quite old but still very decent 6000 count DMM with bargraph and plenty of useful features.
It is based on popular middle class FS9922-DMM4 DMM chip which is capable of serial logging.

Modification is simple:
- tranmitter uses IR emitter from TCRT5000 module and 100 ohm resistor
- receiver uses any cheap serial to USB converter and phototransistor from TCRT5000, use optional pull-up resistor
