In this video, I’m diving into a pastel landscape painting using a new brand of handmade soft pastels from Jackson's Art Supplies. These pastels remind me a lot of Unison pastels, which are my go-to for their rich colors and smooth application. Jackson's pastels are more budget-friendly, but how do they stack up against my favorite Unisons? Watch the video to find out!
I’ll also walk you through my mark-making process, which is similar to my approach with painting—creating lively shapes instead of blending colors, placing one shape next to another to achieve a beautiful broken color effect. This is a bit different from my usual content, as I don't often showcase pastel work, but I think you'll find it interesting.
