I also confirm it has the correct amount of isopropyl alcohol so its effective.NOTE: I am using 99% isopropyl alcohol, the final solution needs to be between 70% to 80%. Using a 70% isopropyl alcohol will not work. When you add other ingredients this dilutes and changes the v/v (volume er volume) of the 70% to a range that is not effective for hand rub.Isopropyl is lighter then ethanol, the hydrometer will sink a little more. W.H.O. states this in the document that isopropyl percentage shows up 77 (+/-1) on the hydrometer on page 4, under quality control step #3. Testing my hydrometer came out +2.5 over 75 @ 25C, I saw the same results as WHO.Different formulas at the bottom of the descriptionAdding other things like essential oil is not recommended. Adding other things can cause the solution to not be effective. These are the formulas I came up with to use EverClear (ethanol alcohol).EverClear in hand rubs haven’t been tested in labs. With that said, it will still work if mixed correctly with a high enough percentage of EverClear It contains denaturing agents, because of this it could be harsher on your skin. Be sure to use hand moisturizer if you don’t make it with glycerin or another moisturizing agent.For the best accuracy ensuring it’s made correctly you should use a hydrometer to measure the final alcohol levels.Formulas listed below allow plus/minus 5% variance while still being 100% effective.NOTE:* All alcohols mentioned in hand sanitizers take 20 seconds to kill any bacteria or viruses.** Hydrogen peroxide is used to remove bacteria spores that may be in measuring cups/spoons and in the storage container. Place in a sealed container and sit for 72 hours before use.*** Do not use a food scale to measure the alcohol. Alcohol density is lighter then water. Use measuring cups/spoon and make sure they are level.**** Boiled cooled water, this is water that is boiled and then naturally cooled down to room temperature. I suggest over w4 hours for the water to cool. Some people might not have hydrogen peroxide. PART 1: Creating Baseline with isopropyl alcohol & Proof Hydrometer to make DYI hand sanitizer Gadget Reviews-US (Scott) 2020-03-31 | In this video I am creating a baseline for a cheap proof and tralle hydrometer. I am creating a baseline to see if the calibration is in the 70% to 80% range using isopropyl alcohol.Isopropyl has a density of 0.786 g/cm3 (20 °C), and ethanol at 0.7893 g/cm3 (20 °C). This makes isopropyl lighter so the hydrometer will sink a little more since a hydrometer for proof/tralles is weighted and calibrated for ethanol alcohol.The easiest way to figure this out is first check your Hydrometers again ethanol, any liquor in the house. If you can’t do this that’s ok, even the cheapest one I bought was off my 0.5 on the scale and the results are still over 70% as recommended. W.H.O. states at 77F (25C) the isopropyl shows up on the hydrometer +2.I confirmed this by messing 3 parts isopropyl alcohol and 1 part distilled water for a 75% isopropyl mixture.*Note: don’t forget this next step:Take a measurement with the hydrometer and deduct points for the temperature of the solution based on the calibration chart that came with your hydrometer.My control of 75% isopropyl came out at 83.5 on my hydrometer, the temperature of the solution was 75 degrees Fahrenheit. According to my chart the hydrometer came with I needed to subtract 6 for the 75F solutions between 50% and 100%, this gave me 77.5 for the hydrometer reading.So now I know 77.5 on the hydrometer is equal to 75% isopropyl alcohol at 75 degrees fahrenheit for my measurements when creating the sanitizer with isopropyl alcohol. This is why using the W.H.O. formula they mention in the documentation that isopropyl percentage shows up higher as 77 on the hydrometer @ 25C when they compared the ethanol batch to the isopropyl batch (page 4, under quality control, step #3). Accuracy is only as good as the testing instrument and is why I did a controlled mix of 1 part distilled water and 3 part 99%+ isopropyl mix. We go for a walk around a car, up and down stairs, the house, and do front facing Vlogging style comparisons. I’m using identical cameras and settting that dint have any image stabilization assistance (IOS/EIS) with two GoPro 4 Black cameras.I’m recording in 1080P @ 60 Frames A Second. I’ve slowed some of the video down for faster parts, if you want to see slowing details you can also slow this down with YouTube playback settings.No stabilizing post editing was done, this just the hardware of the gimbals only. Some color correction was only done when going up the stairs because of how dark it was to see the details better.
121GW meter Hold & Auto Hold Bug. So its understood I wanted to show this on video. Gadget Reviews-US (Scott) 2018-05-23 | UPDATE: Recently I updated the firmware to version 2.XX and this issue seems to now be resolved with auto hold and measuring voltage. I stopped updating firmware around 1.17, and decided to wait for all the bugs to be worked out. I didn’t start using this meter again until recently (October 2019). This is just showing some weird hold and Auto hold functionality with the 121GW meter I believe is a bug.
ZhiYun Smooth 4 Wheel, is it worth buying just for this wheel compaired to the DJI OSMO Mobile 2? How to buy a Gimbal? Zhiyun price drop? DJI OSMO 2 and others. Gadget Reviews-US (Scott) 2018-03-07 | It looks like smooth 3 May have just came down in price. I found it on amazon for USD $172 prime, or $162 without prime. It came with a cleaning kit, case, mini tripod, GoPro adapter. And with its ability to to the heavier payload the GoPro and alter works fine. The DJI OSMO came down to $199 now that they released the OSMO 2 at $130, and the Smooth Q came down to about $100 to compete with the OSMO 2. Feiyu Tech SPG is about $159.Competition is great for us, and it looks like more is coming soon. If your the type to try the latest then read the comments about the Smooth 4 they announced the day after I published this video. That might explain the price drop? But again, it’s all about your needs on what one fits you the best. Something to consider also are case protection, charging methods, USB to charge your phone, replaceable battery, run time and accessories. Accessories are added cost, and sometimes batteries. Over all good review, thanks again.I went with the Smooth 3 since it has replaceable battery, and comes with all the accessories I wanted and is now $172-$162. Gadget Reviews-US (Scott) 2018-02-15 | I personally like the beep to tell me when my irons reaches temperature, but I think it’s way to loud. So in this video I show you how to dampen the sound of that Hakko FX-951 beep. I left the paper backing on the opposite side of the tape, and only removed it from the side pressed onto the speaker.Yes, you can turn if off in the newer firmware with option 5, but I don’t want to turn it off. I just did not want it as loud as it was.The speaker is 0.45 inches in diameter, so you can used the 1/2 inch tape, or 1 inch and just trim it back. Mine was originally the 1 inch wide tape that I cut back so only the corners of the tape overlapped off the buzzer.The 3M tape used was:3M Urethane Foam Tape 4016 - Off-White- 1/16 inch (0.0625 in. (1.6 mm) open-cell, flexible urethane foam carrier that fills gaps,provides long-term holding at temperatures up to 220°F (104°C). More then enough to stay on from the heat of the transformer.I think any of the 3M urethane foam tape should work.
