Calling all Vectrex Cartridge makers! This is a Public Service Announcement... don't let your Vectrex friends make carts with soldermask surrounding the PCB fingers! xD The soldermask can be applied quite thick and cause the Vectrex cartridge slot contacts to float up over the top of the PCB fingers and not make good contact. Especially when in a cartridge case that holds the cart perpendicular to the slot. Here I show a summary of a little arts and crafts to fix this first batch, but I'll be sure to add nice lessons learned in the Docs section of my repo here: github.com/technobly/vectrex-cart#docs

Hi All! You might have seen some of my previous videos and scores done with the Vectorcade controller. I started playing with the original controller just to prove its not the controller, and to attempt for the world record on Twin Galaxies. May 26th, at night I played for over 6 hours until I was so tired, but managed a 103k score with the original controller. Plenty of 90k scores before that.. The next morning I did 104k and 105k and started doing some various test runs to see what really causes the rooms to expand faster.
Something interesting I found out is the speed at which the game progresses is in fact based on how many caverns you visit or re-visit... it just the totals up over time. So best to get every last enemy if you can before you leave a cavern, especially if you dont need to come back that way. But dont wait to go either, or else you might get trapped forever and enter a death loop.
This was a really good game with no silly deaths, that Im very proud of :D
