Inglebard Gaming | Vertical Raspberry Pi 3B+ or lower with Screen Tearing Fix @InglebardGaming | Uploaded June 2020 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
For best results view at 1080p60fps. This time when everything goes sideways it's good! Yes, check out some vertical Raspberry Pi 3B+ or lower performance on arcade, DS and Vectrex games. I didn't try any vertical Lynx games for this video as a) I forgot about them and b) I ran out of time.
I also show you a fix for screen tearing in vertical mode because for some reason it was hard to find online. This stuff will work fine on any Pi model, I didn't use my Pi 4 in this case because the memory card got corrupted on my Pi 3b+ and I needed to re-image it anyway.
Edit, note from future me: This technique doesn't work on a Pi 4. You have to do things differently and it's a lot more complicated, I may do a video dedicated to that soon. Holly from the comments has posted a video on the subject of rotating the Pi 4 himself and you can see it here: youtu.be/1eOFcYNfQMo
If you need a HDMI to DVI or HDMI to VGA adapter, you can get them on Amazon or any of the usual places.
Oh, and yeah I know the colors are wrong on the stupid globe I drew at the end. It was on purpose for two reasons! First, I wanted to illustrate how sick the planet is and second I'm colorblind. Which you probably could have guessed.
