This 2006 HP 510 Notebook PC had vertical colored lines running thru the screen. After taking the screen apart I diagnosed the screen as having faulty/loose wires. With some scotch tape I carefully tightened the wiring into the screen and voila! Screen fixed! It just needed an adjustment to make contact. It's a straight forward process. The part cost very little.
