The EU decided a few years ago they didn't like some of the chemicals in vactrols, so Verbos and others have had to update their modules to use other methods. In this case the new version is quite different from its vactrol predecessor.
Verbos recently did a small run of Amplitude & Tone modules with grandfathered in vactrols, and I managed to get my hands one one. This is my look at how the sound differs between the vactrol and non-vactrol versions.
I'm also listening to the Dual Four Pole, since the Amp & Tone is a Sallen-Key low pass filter in front of a VCA, so can fill the same role as the low pass section of the Dual Four Pole filter.
VCO is a Doepfer A-111 sequenced by Stochastic IG. Envelope is Zadar.
