Venus Jupiter and Moon Conjunction HD Timelapse Star Trails 2-25-2012 @jcmegabyte

Here are a few interesting views of this astonomical event in high definition timelapse, including composited star trails using techniques developed by JCM Digital Imaging. Filmed with a Canon 5D Mk2 and 17mm-40mm wide angle f/4.0L lens from Santa Clarita, CA. Images were taken every 8 seconds using a 7-second exposure at f4 and ISO4000 to capture all the stars visible in this somewhat light-polluted area.

$Golden Flight 1: A Fractal Journey (Rendered with Mandelbulb 3D) 720p V13260 Strange shapes and eerie perspectives come to life in this digitally rendered, 3-dimensional land/seascape based on a mathematical formula... The concept of fractal formulas has been around for some time, but really came into the spotlight around 1975 when a mathematician named Benoît Mandelbrot began to popularize it, and coined the term Fractal. As the computer age dawned, computer users started to visualize these formulas with machine-generated stills and image sequences (video) that became more and more spectacular as computing and graphics rendering power increased. In recent times, fractal formulas have been brought into the 3rd dimension and freeware programs have popped-up which combine mathematical processing, light ray tracing, and image rendering into a single, menu-driven package. Softtware such as Mandelbulb 3D (http://www.fractalforums.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=50) can be freely downloaded and used to create amazing animated adventures through 3D machine space. This digital journey took about 113 hours to render as a sequence of 4900 individual still frames. Those images were then built into a video sequence (in three parts) and finally made into the the final product you see here.
