About: VELUX Deck-mount skylights are guaranteed weathertight because of our patented deck seal technology. There are three layers of protection. The first layer is the deck seal attached to the skylight, which forms an airtight seal. The second layer is the adhesive underlayment. This covers all four sides of the skylights and approximately 6 inches of the roof deck to create a weathertight seal. The third layer is the engineered flashing. This flashing is designed specifically for VELUX skylights to ensure proper and effective shedding of water around the skylight and down the roof. This patented deck seal technology is standard with every VELUX deck-mounted skylight.
