NEW: Over the weekend, I was arrested for allegedly jaywalking on Las Vegas Blvd. Yes, jaywalking.
I was covering the 'No Kings' protest for Frontlines TPUSA. It was a chaotic scene as far-left activists started heckling Christians and other TPAction volunteers.
As I was recording on the sidewalk, I stepped off for a few seconds to avoid bumping into others.
That's when cops moved in and claimed I was violating the law.
I spent more than 12 hours in jail with a DUI suspect, accused wife beater, and a homeless drug addict. They made me strip down and change into an orange jumpsuit. I'm now facing a misdemeanor. First time in my life.
Two other elderly men were arrested for a similar offense. We were all released Sunday morning and must face a judge next month. As you can tell, they are both MAGA supporters and deny the allegations.
I am still pro-police. But for the first time in my life, I now know what over-policing and a power trip looks like. I look forward to my day in court with Officer Schmidt. I also plan to file numerous complaints with Internal Affairs and the Citizen Review Board.
I have numerous videos showing people walking on the roadway in front of cops. The inconsistent enforcement is so obvious and egregious.
I have reached out to Las Vegas Police for comment. So far no response.
My attorney and I plan to request the body cam from all the officers and the official police report. We have nothing to hide.
The burden is on the cops to show I was intentionally walking on the roadway and was warned numerous times not to do so. Good luck.
