I touched down in Chicago and visited a local no-kill animal shelter that specializes in animals that would have trouble being adopted. The animals that have the hardest time being adopted are black animals, older animals, and FIV + felines. Lulu's Locker is doing very important work. Lulu's Locker is all volunteer run and is trying to raise funding for their facilities. luluslockerrescue.org

From there I stopped by a Michelin rated vegan restaurant to try some Asian influenced dishes with my meat eater friends. Mun from Alice and Friends Vegan Kitchen provides an excellent experience from start to finish. Alice in Friends is located just North of Chicago in Edgewater close to the Red Line Train.
