Vedic Geography with Soolaba
In this video I interview Soolaba Doyle who has done significant original research into the description of the Earth given in the Puranas.
Soolaba Doyle's parents both have PhDs in Geography and Ancient History. He became an initiated Hare Krishna devotee in 1983. Although being offered entry to many universties in Australia he instead took a job for ABC Australian National Television. He later completed a Fine Arts degree, then became an ISKCON brahamacari (monk). He has served in various Australian ISKCON temples over the decades. Now retired from family life, he spends his time performing kirtan and researching the topics of Purāṇic Geography, Purāṇic Cosmology, Puranic History and finally the Raganuga Bhakti of the Goswamis.
He is currently known for his website called Soolaba’s Blog, his presentations at the Bhaktivedanta Institute i. Florida, and on the TOVP website. He regularly engages with several groups of devotees who debate the aspects of Bharata-varsa or Earth Cosmology as a kind of peer reviews. The history of religions, scientific cosmology, eastern cosmology, Indian music and mantras, chemistry and alchemy, geography and ancient civilizations, have all been continual areas of interest since the age of 11.
