"VarioLight 2" is a novel "Dynamic Projection Mapping" system for a widely dynamic sphere. One key technology is circumferential markers on the sphere, which enable 500 fps robust ball tracking against interactive occlusions (e.g., hands, fingers) and low resolution compared with dots markers. Another key technology is a previous VarioLight system with a high-speed projector and rotational mirrors, which allows dynamic projection mapping for a widely moving planar object. Then, "VarioLight 2" has realized high-speed projection mapping for the dynamic ball with interaction, wide motion, and no misalignment of projection. We can play football, basketball, and volleyball with attractive and beautiful visual contents as sports entertainment, and can also enjoy sports training using visual feedback such as rotational speed visualization.
