Nā Kama Kai, meaning “children of the sea” was founded in 2008 by Hawaiian Native and professional surfer, Duane DeSoto. Their constant mission is to create a bond between the next generation of surfing and the ocean, so that their heritage and land is honored, preserved, and cared for. For this project, Nā Kama Kai worked with artist, Solomon Enos to bring to life five paintings that tell a story about Hawaiian surf history, for the youth to learn about and pass down.
