This documentary follows the startling transformation of a self-taught amateur into a revolutionary giant of art. Using state-of-the-art science and private historical archives, we peel back the layers of time, and the fading of paint, to reveal the Sunflowers as they first appeared on his easel. From the coal mines of Belgium to the infamous night of the razor in Arles, we explore the thin line between Vincent’s creative ecstasy and his tragic descent. Was he a madman, or a highly sensitive soul who sacrificed everything to show us the stars?
