Here's a quick guide on How To Find the Trader in Valheim pretty easily by using a seed. The trader sells the fishing rod and bait used to fish along with a bunvh of other good items you can only get using the trader.

How To Find Trader:
The trader can be very hard to find and its random based off where he is located. Sometimes it seems like he doesn't even exist on the map and the trader is the only way to get the fishing rod to catch fish. So it's beneficial to just start a new world and type the seed "42069lolxd" in lowercase to spawn a world where the trader can easily be found and then exit back to your world once you've bought whatever you need.
Maybe in the future there will be a better way to find the trader in Valheim but as of now using a seed is the best way.
