Agriculture is central to West Africa’s economy, but food processing remains limited. We invested £12.3 million in Valency in 2023 to support its expansion in Nigeria, followed by an additional £11.6 million in 2024 to build a cashew processing plant and biochar facility in Côte d’Ivoire.

These investments will support 5,300 jobs and benefit 180,000 farmers by improving traceability, reducing emissions, and strengthening local value chains. We also worked with Valency to improve HR policies and job quality through a labour audit and action plan.
