This is what happens to a Peeps marshmallow candy when it's put into a vacuum chamber. Notice how it expands when the vacuum pump is turned on. After the pump is turned off and the air is let back in it shrivels up since many of the air pockets in the marshmallow burst while it was under vacuum.
