Stihl GTA26 Cordless Pruner - Easy to use and very effective New Brit Workshop 2023-12-16 | The GTA 26 would make an ideal present for a keen gardener and I wish that I had one of these when we had our wood burner in our old house. Cutting branches up to 4" thick is a piece of cake. Battery life reduces as the number of thicker cuts increases. My only criticism is the very odd case supplied with the kit version.I am grateful to Stihl for lending this demonstration tool to me.

How to Make a Spline Sled New Brit Workshop 2023-11-27 | Splines are often used to strengthen right angled joints, mostly mitred joints, commonly used for boxes and trays. The splines can look attractive if a contrasting colour of wood is used. In this video I show how to make a spline jig for a table saw. There are many designs but whatever one you use do ensure that you take the greatest of care to avoid injury from the rotating saw blade.

We bumped into a couple who were keen cyclists and they showed us their bike intercom kit. We bought a set from eBay (Amazon sell it as well) and have just returned from a short cycling holiday where we used the kit for the first time. It is fantastic and my wife and I can chat away whilst we cycle even when we are several hundred metres apart. I paid the full price for this kit and the manufacturer has no idea that I have made this video.
Morantz USB Plug and Play Microphone New Brit Workshop 2023-11-04 | I need a microphone for dubbing my videos but did not want to spend too much. Morantz has an excellent reputation for quality and this particular microphone was within my budget. I bough it through Amazon.Do watch to the very end as I recorded my own voice, with a mid Atlantic accent, imitating the well known early voice recording by Thomas Edison. I made adjustments to that sound clip in Final Cut Pro in order to "age" the recording.
