UpTheSaddlers.com (UTS for short) is an independent Walsall FC website & message board, and on the morning of 24th April 2010 a team made up of English UTS users played a team of Flemish UTS users, who were visiting Walsall to see a match there in the afternoon.
The Flemish visit, including the match, was covered by BBC Midlands Today and was also featured on the Midlands edition of BBC's Late Kick Off. This was the third (the BBC said fourth, but I only remember two previous visits) visit from UTS Flanders - each team won a game a piece.
In this game I'm number 8; I'd scored once in the first match, twice in the second, and as it turned out, a hat-trick in this one!
This video only contains goals & goal replays from what was an action-packed 60-minute match of two 30-minute halves. That this video has been condensed from an hour to just 5 minutes shows how much action has had to be cut, which includes some great football by both teams and chances galore. Maybe one day, I'll upload the game in its entirety in 10-minute parts.
The best thanks has to go to UTS Flanders, who make the faithful trip accross the Channel to attend Walsall matches, and meet up with us for a friendly game in the mornings. Good show, chaps!
