About Pedro's Workshop:
Urban sketching is about recording great stories in our sketchbooks, and what better way to tell
a story than by sketching the people that live them!
We will portray a complete story of an interaction between people set in a busy local marketplace, using people and architecture as a background to enhance focus on the main scene.
We will see the Mercado de San Telmo from the viewpoint of the great people working and living in it. We will focus on sketching generic people in the background to create a busy atmosphere. We will practice capturing close-up figures in action, as well as a few objects they’re interacting with, with quick gestures.
Finally, we will take advantage of the indoor architecture to set a stage for the stories of the great people going about their daily business in the marketplace.
Whether they are the local grocer, the barista, the kids playing or the grandma shopping, all
stories matter, if we aim to tell the stories of the world, one sketch at a time.
