This activity provides step-by-step instructions on how to modify a Pilot Parallel calligraphy pen to make a better drawing tool; you can follow the demonstration to create your own custom Parallel Pen for sketching.
Parallel nibs are rectangular in shape; you can draw with their corner but that’s unnatural and almost-always scratchy!
By modifying the nib by introducing an angle cut, or a curved cut, your pen acquires a more natural angle while touching paper. The Parallel nib pen is made of two separate blades – their metal is soft, so easy to modify. Marek will show you how!
