The most critical step in my router lift installation was routing out the perimeter using a template. Except, this requires the use of Porter Cable style guide bushings, and my Harbor Freight plunge router doesn't accept them (even though HF sells the set of bushings!)
So I found a new base plate for the router on Amazon. It's a pretty straight forward swap once you catch on to how to work around the not-so-flat base of the router.
Setting up the bushings in the new base plate is really simple, and turns out to be dead on accurate.
