In this video, I talk to Roger Wang. about his research connecting coastal resilience efforts and environmental sensing technology. He also talks about how AI is used in his work.

Dr. Roger Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Rutgers University, with a joint appointment in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Fluid Mechanics from MIT and completed postdoctoral research at both UC Berkeley and MIT. Dr. Wang’s research focuses on the resilience of coastal systems, environmental flows, and marine renewable energy, leveraging emerging sensing technologies and AI-driven modeling to understand the impacts of climate change and human activities. His work has been recognized with the ASCE State-of-the-Art of Civil Engineering Award, the Rutgers Innovation Award, and Best Paper Awards from the American Meteorological Society and IEEE.
