Used Cars Are “OUTPERFORMING”… But They’ve Missed the REAL Reason! 🤡 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
#UsedCars #MotorTrade #CarMarket
Three-to-four-year-old used cars are apparently “outperforming the market” — but is booming demand really the reason?
In this video, I take a closer look at the Motor Trade News story based on Indicata's used-car market data and explain why there could be a much simpler explanation for what's happening.
The answer takes us straight back to COVID.
The cars that are three or four years old today should largely have originated during a period when new-car production was severely disrupted by factory shutdowns, semiconductor shortages, supply-chain problems and reduced registrations.
So what happens several years later?
Those cars are now missing from the used-car supply chain.
And when you have fewer desirable three-to-four-year-old cars competing for broadly similar levels of demand, basic economics can produce stronger prices, quicker stock turn and greater competition between dealers.
That doesn't necessarily mean demand has suddenly exploded.
It can also mean SUPPLY has fallen.
I also look at the report's references to faster-selling models, including electric cars, and explain why days-to-sell alone doesn't tell us whether a vehicle is profitable or whether its residual value is strong. Price something aggressively enough and almost anything can sell quickly.
So is Indicata wrong?
Not necessarily.
In fact, the shortage explanation makes considerable sense.
But that's exactly why I think the most interesting part of this story isn't that three-to-four-year-old cars are “outperforming”.
It's WHY they're outperforming.
Sometimes the headline tells you what happened.
The real story tells you why.
Let me know what you're seeing in the motor trade. Are three-to-four-year-old cars becoming noticeably harder to source, and are you having to pay more for the good ones?

I’ve been using the Hilo blood pressure monitor for years — and it has genuinely helped me control and lower my blood pressure.
Now it’s had a major upgrade.
It doesn’t just monitor blood pressure 24/7…
It now tracks:
✔ Sleep
✔ Steps
✔ Activity
All inside the same bracelet.
For me, the biggest advantage has always been:
• Continuous blood pressure monitoring
• No “white coat syndrome” readings
• Real-world data instead of snapshot readings
And now having sleep and step tracking built into the same app just makes it even more useful.
If you’re interested, here’s my referral link (20% discount for you):

As always — this isn’t medical advice. Just my honest experience.
