I’m using my Syil X7 CNC machine as a poor mans CMM. This process will work with most two dimensional geometrics shapes and possible with some simpler 3d shapes using some creative genius and good understanding of Cartesian coordinates. Keep in mind you could also do this on a manual milling machine with a digital readout fitted. If using your CNC machine keep in mind that you could get some inaccuracies if you have backlash in the ball screws, unless your machine is fitted with high resolution glass scales.
Keep in mind that the technique I’m demonstrating today is just demonstrating an alternative way and is not a definitive “HOW TO Guide”!
