Katy Boychuk recently stumbled upon a Japanese podcast and was shocked at how much of it she could understand. She started learning Japanese 17 years ago as a Rotary International Youth Exchange student, but hadn't put her language skills to use in a decade. Here she shares 5 principles that she believes contributed to her success in learning a second language and challenges the "use of it or lose it" theory.
