Many watercolor problems donβt come from technique, but from a lack of presence. In this demo, I explore how simply looking at whatβs happening on the paper - and really staying engaged with the wash - can dramatically improve your results.
A lot of painters rush through washes out of fear of backruns, blooms, or of ruining it. The leads to "autopilot" painting, going through the motions instead of responding to the paint, the water, and the timing in front of you.
In this demonstration, I show how slowing down, focusing, and reacting in real time allows watercolor to work with you instead of against you. This approach helps you paint more confident, beautiful washes without forcing or overworking the process.

00:50 - Starting the Wash
05:00 - Dark Horizon
07:23 - Wet-in-Wet Hill

My name is Liron, and Iβm an artist, author and creator.
My biggest passion is painting & sharing my artistic journey with others. For this reason, over the past decade or so, I have amassed a significant following of close to 500K people on the different media channels, such as YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and my own mailing lists.
I have sold hundreds of paintings, taught thousands of students and have been published in multiple magazines.
It is safe to say watercolor chose me, and not the other way around. My painting philosophy is quite simple. Most of the time I follow my intuition.
