For this fluid painting, we absolutely need paper cups; you won't get the same result with plastic cups!
The acrylic paints were only diluted with water, but make sure the paints don't become too watery. I'll explain my working paint recipe in my course, where you'll also learn how to correctly calculate your paint quantity: tiktusart.com/en/acrylic-pouring-online-course
However, calculating the paint quantity isn't as precise with this technique; you'll definitely need a bit more paint. If you prepare double the amount, you'll have enough in reserve.
When filling the paper cups, always layer a little paint of each color into the cup; when pouring it onto the canvas, more stripes will appear.
After you've distributed your first two paint cups on the canvas, you'll see how much paint is needed to cover approximately 80-90 percent of the canvas.
I recommend using this amount for this technique, as using too little paint would otherwise distort the pattern too much.
But why are paper cups so important?
Paper cups can be folded at one end before pouring onto the canvas.
This creates a spout, which prevents the paint from flowing out of the cup too quickly. This allows you to create your artwork in peace.
And to prevent the paint from flowing uncontrollably onto the canvas, I only fill the paper cups a little more than halfway.
