Bring me that horizon!

The crew of the USCGC Juniper (WLB-201), a 225-foot seagoing buoy tender, is currently deployed and at work maintaining Aids to Navigation (ATON) in the waters of Guam, Saipan, and Kwajalein, approximately 3,000 nautical miles away from their homeport in Honolulu, HI.

The Juniper is filling in for their sister ship, USCGC Hickory (WLB-212), which is currently undergoing lifecycle maintenance in Baltimore, MD.

While the Juniper’s primary mission is to maintain Aids to Navigation (ATON), the cutter can also participate in the Coast Guard’s Maritime Law Enforcement, Maritime Security Operations, Search and Rescue, and Marine Environmental Protection missions.
