Independent journalist and author Antony Loewenstein has discussed hopes for a “circuit breaker” in the Middle East conflict following the death of Hamas’ leader.

Hamas leader and October 7 mastermind Yahya Sinwar is dead.

“The US has said very clearly that there will be no pressure on Israel to end this conflict,” Mr Loewenstein told Sky News Australia.

“Ultimately, where is the Israeli incentive to end the war beyond getting their hostages out?”
