Concerns about American military readiness have intensified following multiple reports of dwindling munitions stockpiles after five months of war with Iran.

Reuters was first to report the U.S. Army has gone through "virtually all" of its surface-to-surface Army Tactical Missile Systems and Precision Strike Missiles, citing people familiar with inventory data. These weapons allow personnel to launch accurate strikes while keeping a safe distance from the target. A shortage of these could necessitate the use of more dangerous methods of attacking the enemy, experts warned.
A Pentagon spokesperson who responded to the report said the military has everything it needs to execute orders from the president. Last week, responding to earlier reports of strained stockpiles, President Donald Trump said, "We have plenty."
“We have a lot of the mid-level stuff, too. I mean, more than we could ever use, no matter what. But we have a lot. I’d like to have more, to be honest," Trump said.

Also citing people familiar with the data, CNN reported the military burned through about 80% of interceptors for Terminal High Altitude Area Defense systems.
