The M142 HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System) is a highly mobile, wheeled precision-strike rocket artillery system developed by Lockheed Martin for the U.S. military. Essentially, it takes the devastating firepower of the older, heavier tracked M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) and mounts it onto a standard, nimble medium tactical truck chassis.
