Dartmouth College celebrated the commissioning of two members of the Class of 2026 as second lieutenants in the United States Army on June 12, 2026, at Loew Auditorium. Anne-Sarah Nichitiu '26, a neuroscience major from Winhall, Vermont, will commission into the Army Medical Department and attend the Uniformed Services School of Medicine in Maryland. Cooper Hyldahl '26, an economics and history major from Wilmington, North Carolina, will commission into the 203rd Military Intelligence Battalion in Maryland. The ceremony featured remarks by Professor of Government Lisa Baldez, commissioning warrant readings by Lt. Col. Jeffrey Wade, and the administration of the oath of office by Capt. Jacob Rozak ‘21. The keynote address was delivered by Jake Tapper '91, CNN's lead Washington anchor and member of the Dartmouth Board of Trustees. Both second lieutenants exchanged their first salutes with retired Sgt. John Goodell, a Vietnam War veteran.
