Your Giving Day gift will help scientists at the Queensland Brain Institute (QBI) unravel the neurological foundation of disorders such as depression, schizophrenia, PTSD and addiction. This is critical to understanding why people develop mental health disorders and identify potential prevention pathways and personalised treatment solutions.

Why donate to QBI mental health research? One in five people are impacted by mental illness in their lifetime. By better understanding the brain, how it works and why illnesses occur, we aim to find the best treatments to help people recover and live their best lives. Mental health is an important target for brain science. The burden of this disease on those affected and on those who love them, deserves the best neuroscience we can offer.

Scientists at QBI are looking at brain development, epigenetics, environmental risk factors, genes, neurogenesis and the neurochemical control of behaviour to understand what happens when our brains misfire.

Our goal is to ultimately prevent people from developing brain disorders. With your support, we are confident our research will lead to improved treatments and fewer people living with mental illness.
