I wanted to share some more about my cow, Fannie's Milk Fever with her fourth calf since there have been so many questions about it. While we were able to help her give birth to the calf, she just wasn't recovering like she should and the next day she was in danger of never getting up again.
That causes all kinds of digestive and muscular issues in cattle so we had to find solutions. She got more calcium and dextrose by IV and then we had to diligently watch her for a chance to get her up. When the baby would wander away, she tried to follow and that was Chris' big chance to save her when we were running out of time.

Kamut® flour is NOT gluten-free, but has often been found to affect people differently than typical flour gluten. Some studies have shown that Kamut® flour and products might be more digestible for people who experience symptoms of gluten intolerance.
