Eight people were killed when a B-52H Stratofortress crashed shortly after takeoff at Edwards Air Force Base on June 15th, 2026. Boeing has now confirmed two of its employees were among the dead. The aircraft — tail number 60-0061 — is believed to be the B-52 Radar Modernization Program test aircraft delivered to the 412th Test Wing in December 2025. Names are being withheld pending next-of-kin notification. Cause is under investigation.
