SOMETIMES A TOY ISN’T JUST A TOY.

For Transformers fans, the Matrix of Leadership has always represented something bigger—hope, responsibility, courage, and the legacy carried from one generation to the next.

But for me, holding the new Hasbro Matrix means something a little more personal.

I’m 48 years old.

And somewhere inside this grown man is still that kid who watched Optimus Prime raise the Matrix, heard The Touch blasting through the speakers, and thought it was the coolest thing he had ever seen.

Back then, something like this only existed on the television screen.

Now I can hold it.

Open it.

Raise it above my head.

And for a few seconds, I’m not 48 anymore.

I’m that kid again.

Some childhood dreams don’t disappear when you grow up.

Sometimes you finally get old enough to afford them.
