In this guitar lesson we look at changing triad arpeggios to a beautiful modal arpeggios that sound awesome over the modes of the major scale like Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Eolian and Locrian. We do that by adding the characteristic note of the mode to the triad arpeggio, transpose 4 note arpeggios over the octave and use the Tim Miller 2-1 system to create open and beautiful sounding modal arpeggios.

Although the modes are diatonic scales like the major and minor scale, they ask for a different approach in order to result in a true modal sound and amazing chord progressions.
