While at Universal Studios Hollywood, head to Universal Plaza and check out several photo opportunities. From Photos with Woody Woodpecker and Winnie Woodpecker, Jaws, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, a Delorean from Back to the Future movies, Doomed Glashier Expedition, Wild Wild Wild West Stunt Show, and more! All are included with your admission to Universal Studios Hollywood theme park. But this ends on August 11, 2024.

The 60th Studio Tour Anniversary celebrates the legacy of the World Famous Universal Studios Tour. In 1964, with only two red and white candy-striped trams and a handful of tour guides, the Universal Studios Tour made it's debut. Now, six decades later, the Studio Tour has given a behind the scenes look at filmmaking to over 200 million guests! While the tour has evolved over the years, one thing has never changed: Bringing the magic of filmmaking to movie fans, young and old!

Have fun exploring the Plaza for a look at some of our most popular attractions from the past and present!

The Ice Tunnel (1975 - 2013) went through several iterations over it's nearly 40 years as a part of our Studio Tour. Originally called The Doomed Glacier Expedition, it used techniques such as forced perspective and surround sound to immerse guests in the dizzying terror of being trapped in an avalanche!

In 1997, the attraction was reimagined as a volcanic mine shaft, based on Universal Pictures' Dante's Peak. This reimagining added ultraviolet lighting effects to simulate glowing lava.

The tunnel was once again reimagined in 2001 as The Curse of the Mummy's Tomb, based on Universal's blockbuster franchise, The Mummy.

Containing some of the oldest facades on our backlot, the Western Sets (1964 present) also known as "Six Points," consists of 6 western themed streets.

The Stunt Show (1964) was a live performance taking place at the Visitor's Village. When the area was reimagined as Prop Plaza in 1965, the Stunt Show was relocated to the newly built Upper Lot.

A taste of the Old West remained at Prop Plaza, in the form of a "jail" photo op. This popular experience allowed guests to get a photo behind bars, without breaking the law.
