This tester works on 5V USB power bank or cellphone charger. It gives 14V at the output thanks to MT3608 stepup booster and then it's connected to lm317 in the constant current configuration. It can test regular 3,5,10 mm led-s as well as 12V led strips. It is also great diagnostic tool for detecting faulty led in E-27 lightbulbs. These led-s are typically 6.6V forward voltage so any nultimeter cannot test them
