Captain Theresa Claiborne was the first Black woman pilot in the U.S. Air Force, first Black woman air commander and first Black woman instructor pilot for the KC-135.

And now — after making aviation history and mentoring a new generation of pilots — she took her final flight and retired after a 34-year career at United.

Congratulations on your retirement, Captain Claiborne! You are truly the definition of a G.O.A.T. 💙
