Union Pacific 3985 was on a multi-state tour in September and October, 2010. On the morning of October 13, she departed the “Old Yard” in Marysville, KS, after spending the night. I had scoped out the scene the day before and was thrilled by the cool morning temperature which led to spectacular amounts of steam. The slow journey around a bend and up a grade to the UP main took about eight and a half minutes.
