This Monday morning’s Music + Coffee combo.
I've always been a @lauramarling fan, she's a consistently sophisticated and deep writer, and this new album, 'Song For Our Daughter', is my favourite of hers yet. Her guitar finger-picking style calls to mind some of the greats like Bert Jansch and Nick Drake, her voice so mature and velvety, her lyrics and melodies ever-sublime, and with beautiful production and arrangements too! I got my copy from Union Music Store in Lewes - one of my favourite UK record shops, another which I've played numerous times over the years. The shop was previously run by a dear friend (and also CEO of the AMAUK) Stevie Smith, and now by my fellow singer-songwriter pal, Danny of 'Danny and The Champs' along with Del Day.

I hadn't tried Yallah coffee before today, but had been meaning to for ages! Their beans are roasted in Cornwall and this is one of their seasonal roasts from Ethiopia with "apricot, peach and floral" notes. Mmmm.
