Unifire AB | Unifire XT Telescopic Boom for extending robotic nozzles @UnifireAB | Uploaded January 2021 | Updated October 2024, 4 days ago.
This video shows the building of a telescopic boom for extending a robotic nozzle from a building or structure to fight fires. It can also be useful for cleaning applications, such as at waste and sewage treatment plants, tank cleaning, etc.

Unifire can customize the length and stroke of the boom to suit our clients' needs. Unifire also offers other custom solutions, such as wing arms, automatic doors, etc.

The telecopic boom, built by Unifire AB of Sweden, is also an optional component of Unifire's company's FLAMERANGER XT system--the world's first and only fully autonomous fire detection and suppression system designed and successfully tested for protecting high rise building façades with flammable / combustible cladding, or Aluminum Composite Material (ACM). A video showing the full system can be seen at youtu.be/tnCiLEx3O3w

Fire can spread extremely quickly on high-rise building exteriors which are covered with combustible cladding. Thousands of buildings around world-wide are at high risk of going up in flames in minutes. Dozens of buildings have suffered catastrophic fires as a result of such combustible cladding material, among them the Grenfell Tower in 2017, which left 74 dead. Such fires continue to repeat and will continue without an effective solution.

FLAMERANGER XT rapidly detects fires on building exteriors by means of state-of-the-art fire detection technologies and identifies the fire's location. The system extends a high-volume remote controlled robotic nozzle (water cannon) out of the building and automatically aims to suppress the fire. Within seconds the system is fighting the fire much like a human firefighter would do were they able to get to the fire.

Not only is the system extremely fast acting, but it can be installed so as to protect the entire building, all the way to the top, where firefighters cannot reach with traditional equipment.

The FlameRanger XT is highly economical and can be installed quickly with little disruption to the building or its occupants. And, the system can tap into the building's existing water supply.
