The Uniden R4 and R8 now support laser jammers, but sadly it's still buggy.
There's also a new splitter box to support up to 12 heads.

Detailed Video Content & Summary:
R4 and R8 Laser Jammer Support: With firmware v1.41, the Uniden R4 and R8 now act as controllers and displays for Uniden laser jammers. This allows for direct configuration of pulse mode and head settings. (Ref: 1:01)
Auto-Disarm Bug Analysis: Testing against the True Speed S and DragonEye reveals that the "Pulse Mode" (Auto JTK) often fails to disarm after the user-set duration (e.g., 4 seconds) or may re-engage jamming prematurely, ignoring the 30-second rearm delay. (Ref: 1:42)
Alert Failures: Under specific conditions with Laser Ally or DragonEye guns, the jammers may fire without providing an audible or visual alert to the driver, potentially leading to "jamming to gun" without the user's knowledge. (Ref: 2:26)
12-Head Support & Splitter Box: A new Uniden splitter box has been introduced, enabling two transponder boxes to connect to a single detector. This allows for up to 12 heads for larger vehicle coverage. (Ref: 6:05)
Hardwire & Keypad Compatibility: The splitter box facilitates the use of the wired keypad controller and laser jammers simultaneously for hardwired installations, resolving previous port limitations. (Ref: 9:14)
Optimization Tip: It is recommended to disable the built-in laser detection in the R4/R8 settings when using jammers to ensure the transponder heads handle all detection and pulse patterns without interference. (Ref: 5:40)

AI Video Summary:
This video compares the newly released Viofo A229 Ultra to its predecessor, the A229 Pro. The Ultra introduces two primary upgrades: a 4K resolution rear camera and an ultra-wide fisheye interior camera for improved side-impact coverage.
Upgraded Rear Camera (4K): The Ultra features a 4K Sony Starvis 2 rear camera, an upgrade from the 2K sensor on the Pro. This higher resolution provides better detail for capturing faces and license plates at a distance, though the front camera remains identical to the Pro. [00:14, 05:50]
Ultra-Wide Interior Cam: The three-channel Ultra model includes a 210-degree fisheye interior camera. This allows for superior coverage of the cabin and side windows, which is valuable for documenting police encounters or side-impact accidents (T-bones). [00:34, 07:39]
Case & Connectivity: The front camera design, button layout, and GPS mount are virtually identical between the Pro and Ultra. Both use USB-C for rear camera connections, making it easy for current A229 Pro users to swap the main unit and rear camera while reusing their existing cables. [01:38, 03:37]
Rear Camera Design: The Ultra’s rear camera adopts the design from the A329X line, allowing for a clip-on polarizer to reduce glare. This is an improvement over the adhesive-based polarizers used on the Pros rear cam. [02:27, 02:43]
Compatibility & Upgrades: Interestingly, the Ultra’s 1080p fisheye interior camera is backward compatible with the A229 Pro. Pro users can purchase the new interior camera separately to gain side-facing coverage without upgrading the entire system. [10:04, 10:18]
Pricing & Value: At launch, the Ultra carries a modest price premium—roughly $30 more for the two-channel and $40 more for the three-channel version. Given the added side coverage and rear resolution, the Ultra is recommended for those who dont specifically need the Pros telephoto lens option. [08:28, 09:51]
